Ventilation and air extraction systems

Ventilation systems can be classified into two large groups: natural ventilation and mechanical ventilation. Natural ventilation is based on the pressure difference between the inside and the outside, which generates an air current through openings such as windows or grilles. Mechanical ventilation is produced by devices that drive or extract air by means of fans or extractors. Within mechanical ventilation, we can distinguish between:

  • Simple mechanical ventilation: it consists of installing an extractor in a humid or contaminated area, such as the bathroom or the kitchen, which extracts the stale air to the outside. Fresh air enters through the natural openings of the building.
  • Controlled mechanical ventilation: it is a more complete and efficient system, which incorporates a network of ducts that distribute the air throughout the house or premises. The air is renewed continuously and controlled, ensuring good indoor air quality. In addition, a heat recovery system can be incorporated, which uses the energy of the extracted air to preheat or pre-cool the incoming air, saving energy and improving thermal comfort.
  • Hybrid mechanical ventilation: it combines natural and mechanical ventilation, adapting to climatic conditions and the needs of each moment.

A ventilation system is a set of elements that allow renewing the indoor air of a space, eliminating pollutants and providing fresh and clean air. There are different types of ventilation and air renewal systems, both for homes, garages, commercial premises, kitchens… At Vifrisan we are experts in ventilation installations and we offer you the best solutions for each case. Installing an air renewal and ventilation system has multiple benefits for your health and well-being. Some of them are: it improves indoor air quality, avoiding problems derived from humidity, bad smells, mites, mould or chemical pollutants; it reduces the risk of contagion of respiratory diseases, by eliminating viruses and bacteria from the air; it increases thermal and acoustic comfort, by regulating temperature and noise level; it saves energy and money, by optimising electricity consumption and reducing thermal losses; it contributes to environmental protection, by reducing CO2 emissions.
